It's a Torch! It's a Bonfire! No, It's John's Birthday!

We celebrated John's 42nd birthday this month.  We love him so much!

(Ignore the Christmas wrapping paper here.  That's one of the things about having a December birthday, you get Christmas wrapping paper.)

AJ is a Hoot!

AJ played his school's mascot, Hoot, at a recent spirit assembly.

Here is some video of his experience.

AJ is an AMAZING reader!

AJ's school has an accelerated reading program.  Each child has a reading goal, and AJ not only reached his goal, he surpassed it!  His goal was 44 points.  He earned over 66 points!  His school awarded him with a medal.

We are so proud of him and his hard work!

Apple "Pi" Pie

John made an apple pie and decided to make it a true "pi."

Disneyland with the Malaman Family!

My sister, Mandi, and her family came for a visit Thanksgiving week.  We had our Thanksgiving dinner on Wednesday and went to Disneyland together on Thursday (Thanksgiving).  Here are some highlights!  (And Mandi, I caught Logan looking in a couple of these!)

What the Heck is a Frito Pie?

I guess it's from the "secret menu" at Sonic, and David really wanted to try it.  So here it is.

He loved it!

Sushi

Here are more pictures from John's iPhone.  We went out for sushi (all you can eat) and took a picture of all the food.  It was yummy, but more than we could eat!

Nags Head, NC

Yes, I know we went there over a year ago, but I found these pictures on John's iPhone.  This pictures are from the beach looking back at the beach house.

Isn't it beautiful?

Could Anything Worse Happen on Vacation?

When we went on vacation to the Outer Banks, NC last summer, John had a horrible allergic reaction to spray on sunscreen.  He had hives all over his chest, back, and legs.  After suffering for a day, he agreed to go to urgent care.  Thankfully, they gave him a steriod shot, and he felt a lot better.

Here he is in the waiting room.

A Night Out On The Town

Another old iPhone picture, this one is from a double date with some good friends.  They're not in the picture, but they took it for us.

What Good Lookin' Men!

More pictures from John's iPhone.  (About a year old.)

Look how fancy they look in their church clothes!

Krispy Kreme

We love visiting the Krispy Kreme store near our home.  Not only are the donuts yummy, but the boys love watching them make the donuts.

These photos are from a year or so ago.

John Goofing Off At Work

It's a lot of fun working where you make movies and video games.  It must be the props!

Homemade Root Beer and Winning the Chili Cook-off in 2010

In 2010, the Priest Quorum got together and made the winning chili for the ward Halloween party.

The boys also made "homemade" root beer with dry ice.  I had to share this picture, because they look like mad scientists!

A New Hairstyle, Perhaps?

John used an app to create a new hairstyle for me.  What do you think?

One of John's Favorite Pictures (even though I don't like it)

John had one of the boys take this picture of us outside the church building a couple of years ago.  I don't like it because it actually looks like me.  I want it to look like the young, skinny, pre-kid me, but I guess that's never going to happen again, huh?

Salt Lake Temple

When we visited my sister, Mandi, in Utah a couple of years ago, we went to Temple Square in Salt Lake City and took this picture of John and the boys in front of the Salt Lake Temple.  It's one of my favorites!

Snuggies

John and I were at a drugstore sometime ago and found a "must have" for all dog owners:

David is in Cambodia!

My son, David, is serving a 2 year volunteer mission teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the Vietnamese language in the Cambodia Phnom Penh mission (which includes Vietnam).  He reported to the Provo MTC (Missionary Training Center) on August 15, 2012, and he left for Cambodia on Tuesday, October 30, 2012.  He arrived safely in Cambodia on the morning of November 1, 2012.

Here are some pictures from his mission president, David C Moon.
