Scout Bike Trip

Michael went on a long bike ride with the Scouts in his troop, and John came along for the fun of it.  He's not in any of the pictures, but he did capture Michael with some of his friends.

My First Triathlon Event

Every year, there is a Boy Scout Triathlon in our area.  Last year, Michael competed and did a great job "ironmanning" it. 

This year, I got together with a friend of mine at church to compete.  She wanted to run, and I wanted to swim, so we recruited someone to bike for us, and we were off!

I had a case of last minute nerves before, but I did okay!  I definitely wasn't first, but I wasn't last either.  It was a great experience!

Foam Fest 5K 2013

I've been talking about running a 5K for several months, but I wasn't sure I was ready.  John found a fun family 5K called the "Foam Fest 5K."  It involves a lot of mud, water, and soapy foam.  We decided to run it as a family.  Everyone but Jacob decided to take part.   Here are some pictures of the fun we had. 

I enjoyed it so much, I would definitely do it again!  And I would recommend anyone who is thinking about doing a 5K (running or walking) check this out in your area.  They are held all over the country and are not "ultra-competitive."

Michael's Tennis Banquet

Michael joined the JV Tennis Team this year.  He had a great season and is looking forward to next year.  There was a Banquet to honor the Tennis team members.  Here are a few pictures.

Volleyball

Michael participated in our local stake volleyball games a month or so ago.  Here are a few pictures (which he really didn't want me to take, so consider yourself lucky to see them).

Youth Basketball

Michael played basketball with the young men from our ward.  They had a lot of fun and even won a couple of games.

Triathlon - Michael Ironmanned It!

Michael participated in the Venture/Varsity Scout Triathlon last Saturday.  Last year he was part of a team, but this year, he decided to do all three legs himself.  And he did it!

We are so proud of him!
