Disneyland!

We went to Disneyland for my birthday on Tuesday. We pulled the kids out of school and had a great day! Here are some pictures.

Toon Town Video

There is a "Toon Town" section of Disneyland. I took a short video of the kids trying to set off the "TNT." Beware, because I turned the camera on it's side during the video in an attempt to include the top of the building, so you will need to tilt your head to the left about halfway through.

The Happiest Place on Earth!

Disneyland has a promotion which allows one to get into Disneyland for free on their birthday (if they register on their website first, http://www.disneyland.com/, and bring a copy of the registration with a photo id). I registered everyone in our family, and we decided to go on my birthday this past Tuesday.

I have quite a few pictures and one video, but haven't downloaded them from my camera yet. So to tide you over, I uploaded a picture we bought from Disney's Splash Mountain exhibit. I love it because of the variety of emotions caught in this picture. AJ was terrified. Michael wasn't sure how he felt. David was thrilled. John and I were having a great time, but I had to hold onto AJ so he wouldn't freak out. I'll put more pictures up soon.

Free Eco-Friendly Totes

I have been purchasing reusable totes for my groceries, and last month, I noticed an offer on Oroweat bread for a free Eco-Tote. If you buy three loaves of specially marked packages of Oroweat bread, they will send you a free tote. You enter the codes on the inside of the package at their website (http://www.oroweat.com/), and that's it! No shipping and handling. No limit on the number of free totes. No hoops to jump through.

I just entered my first set of three codes and should receive my free tote in a few weeks. Check it out!
Flowers, Flowers Everywhere!

The flowers in my garden are blooming! I thought I'd share a few photos.

Jacob Was On The News!

It was really hot on Monday, so Jacob went to Coldstone Creamery with a friend. KCAL 9 was filming at the shopping center and took some video footage. He was on the news for a very brief second. He called home and told me to record it. It is not too often that Jacob expresses that kind of excitement to me, so I acted! I recorded the 4:00 news with my son!
National Honor Society Induction

David was inducted into the National Honor Society last week. He's worked so hard to maintain good grades, particularly this year. He has a very tough schedule, yet he's maintained a high enough GPA to be accepted into the National Honor Society. We are so proud of him!

An Easter Message

I enjoyed this video and thought it set a wonderful tone for Easter. I am so grateful for my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I know He atoned for my sins and for the sins of all God's children. I am especially mindful of His sacrifice during the Easter season. I hope this video helps enhance your Easter Holiday.

Ward Easter Party

Today we had a ward Easter Party put on by the Primary. I got there early with Michael and A.J. to set up. Michael and AJ were great! They helped hide eggs and did anything I asked. Here are some photos of the event.

Instruction time: Don't trample the little kids!

Our Trip to Utah, Part 6: Temple Square

I took the boys to Temple Square in Salt Lake City on Tuesday. We went to both the North and South Visitor Centers (although we spent less time in the South Visitor Center, because the boys were getting tired and hungry) and the Tabernacle where the Mormon Tabernacle Choir practices and performs.

We also walked around the Church Office Building and enjoyed the beautiful garden and statues outside. The weather was gorgeous that day, and we had a great time. If you would like to find out more about the Visitor Center, or to find one near you, please visit http://www.lds.org/. If you would like to know more about our Savior Jesus Christ, please visit JesusChrist.lds.org or http://www.mormon.org/.

Inside the Visitor Center
I had not seen the Temple Square Visitor Centers since they had been remodelled years ago. I was quite impressed by the emphasis on humanitarian service.

Whenever my family visited the Temple Square Visitor Center, we would take a picture of the family in front of the Christus. Unfortunately, my boys would not cooperate and stand together in front of the statue, but I was able to get them separately.
